This is in response to the editorial Constitutionally Off-track.

This is in response to the editorial Constitutionally off-track. The whole farce of announcing and the withdrawal of the bandh call by the DMK has caused a lot of reactions from the political parties to the Supreme Court. The whole point of the ASI contesting the fact of the existence of the myth of Lord Ram and the sethu was perpetuated by the UPA in the centre, later the withdrawal and sacking of the ASI officials itself was contentious. Then came the derogatory remarks by the honourable Chief Minister Karunanidhi like asking if Ram was an engineer who constructed the bridge as if Karunanidhi was a sole authority in Tamil and a historian. When the Supreme Court said the bandh was illegal they continued with a fast. When this was contested in the court the remark made by the presiding Judge was published in your newspaper and later came the withdrawal by the Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu and followed by an editorial on the overreach of the judiciary and tried to put certain breaks to the judiciary where their role and responsibility ends. The media has to confirm to a certain Lakshman Rekha to criticising respected and time honoured institutions in the nation and analysing their activities. The judge has every right to comment or take a certain stance on the political situation in the nation as he is an eminent citizen of the nation.

The whole sequence of events shows that The Hindu is a newspaper that is noble and sober, secular as long as the event is leftist. Why don’t your paper stick on to a certain stance of being leftist or ultra conservative. The use of the word communal party referring to the BJP is attaining the heights of hypocrisy. What is wrong in a certain section of the community fighting for the individuality of a religion or a culture, when the pseudo-secularists and the minority appeasers erode the true values of that religion? A country is valued by the depth of its culture and history and not by the denial of the same.

India and its people have been tolerant to a lot of invaders and missionaries who have used and abused the Indians for a long time. When the judiciary steps into to put a halt to these activities, the entire media turns against them, especially when the politicians and the press are questioned. Why do you need an association or an union, that’s to fight against the forces who raise against the financial interest of that community, when you know that you have done wrong in the first place. Judiciary have come up with a lot of observations, which is revolutionary and far thinking on the aspects of reservation for the OBC, bandhs and many other curses which plague only the Indian community and nowhere else in the world.

Please put an end to these matters which is politically motivated and the individual ambitions of certain politicians are in the forefront of these contentious issues and respect the feelings and sentiments of a large community when it comes to the matter of god and religion.

Letter to an Unknown Idiot.

Mr. Simple Simon or whatever you call your self. You still think that India is backward and poor, just think who is responsible for the entire mess. It is you, the imperialistic power. India was a very self sufficient country and contributed 20% of the world's GDP, you people came and bled our country and left us to fend for ourselves, you were the very reason for the slums, by bringing you lousy culture and industries, the country is now suffering for the excess of your greed. For your info, we would have got our independence without the help of that bastard Gandhi because Great Britain was weakened by the Second World War and USSR was mobilizing itself to invade India and free us from your clutches. He was a person seized the opportunity and made himself an immortal, I have scant respect for that person and the people who call themselves Gandhian.

Your another point on the 9/11 attack, you just know only that incident, but it is nothing compared to the terrorist attacks on the innocent people of India, who suffer everyday since mid 1970. Whatever happens to you are magnified and projected by your media and what happens here are just insignificant. I agree that what has happened is bad, but because of this more than half a million Iraqis are dead and countless children orphaned and women widowed and have no means of surviving.

This is a poignant outpouring of a woman in Iraq.

Is there anything in Iraq that the Americans have not destroyed?

Anything at all? ... The past - you have looted and destroyed. Trying to erase our collective historical memory ... Our roots, where we came from, what our ancestors did, their achievements, their trials, their statues, their writings ...

You do not know history, you are rejects of history. You have no history. You have no past, you have nothing ... you are nothing.

You are nothing but ogres of consumerism. Not just material stuff, but anything you can swallow whole you will. You even swallow other people's history whole.

You are a greedy, covetous, gluttonous, voracious, jealous, envious people ...
Since you are nothing, your nihilism contaminates everything else ...

You destroy and self destruct ...

No Future - You have no future, because inside of yourselves, your future is limited to your own little egos. Little egos have no future. Little egos are amoebas, parasites, feeding off others ...

You think you have a vision but your vision is only about your stomach, your pockets and what you have in between your legs ... That is it.

This is where it stops. Surely this does not make you seers ...

What have you contributed to the world ? Anything of real substance? Nothing. Apart from brutal might and power ... and your sickening culture that is as hollow and as empty as you are.

And just as you have no real future, you robbed us of our own. You are collectively a bunch of criminals, thieves, thugs and perverts of the worst kind.

Since your fucking 9/11, you have totally destroyed two countries. Afghanistan and Iraq. And you have not stopped. Not one day, not one hour ...

You wanted regime change in Iraq - you got it. You also changed us, me, beyond anything I can recognize ... I never hated you before. Today I do. I really hate you.

You collectively disgust me. Even our ancient Mesopotamian deities and spirits are disgusted with you. Every single letter of the Alphabet is disgusted with you.

The earth, the rivers, the sky, the mountains, the trees, the birds of Iraq are disgusted with you ... The cosmos is disgusted with you ...

Everytime I spot one of you anywhere in close proximity and hear that ugly accent of yours I run away ... I avoid you like the plague. I can't bear to hear you or see you.

You represent nothing but Death and Destruction to me. Your ugliness is all pervading ...

Everytime I switch on the TV or the Radio and see or hear one of you, I zap. I wish I can zap you out of my life once and for all ...

I know, I keep repeating myself, but then you keep repeating the same acts.
Iraq is going down, with its past and its future ...

I can only promise you one thing, however long it may take, we are going to take you down with us."

Be ashamed of yourself and try to make this earth a place of happiness and safe for our children to live.

Attrocities Against Women

Dear Mr. Ram,
there has been columns and 'letters to the editor' written on Taslima Nasrin's attack in Hyderabad by MIM legistrators, both for and against, yes, all the justifications are of the highest order and I agree with some on the point of where to draw a line on the freedom of speech. Always there is ill will generated when one hurts the sentiments of a religion.

But has anyone given a thought on Hina Fathima, the woman who was badly burnt by an acid attack by her husband in Mysore. These sort of crimes are rampant in our society and no one ever gives a thought on these mindless violence perpetuated on a defenceless woman, who thinks her husband and her children are her only reason for her existence.

Let's stop glorifying or condemning these celebrities and raise up our voice for these women who sacrifice their life for their children's well being.

I do appreciate your paper to publish the report on Hina Fathima and her plight.

NGOs The pseudo watchdogs

This is regarding the article, 'Rights violations in hostels,' I don't understand why to make a hue and cry on hostels run by the Adi Dravidar Welfare. On the concept of cleaning ones own toilet and helping in cooking and other day-to-day activities do not constitute Human Rights Violations, but in contrary they help in building character and instill discipline, and Independence in these students and prepare them to face the real world. This kind of activities are practised in the west even in homes and community service is encouraged and not seen as a demeaning core.

As far as corporal punishment, lack of hygiene and quality of food goes, I agree to the allegations made by the NGO. Yes, there are a lot of constrains in running these welfare hostels and this can be taken up with the concerned officials and not seek publicity by this NGO. These NGOs thrive by such publicity and they were proven wrong in the Coke/Pepsi episode. Please do not encourage such organisations, since they do more harm than help. If they are serious, they should take up such Welfare Hostels and show the government how to run them.

Contemplate

" PULITZER PRIZE " winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan famine. The picture depicts a famine stricken child crawling towards an United Nations food camp, located a kilometer away. The vulture is waiting for the child to die so that it can eat it. This picture shocked the whole world. No one knows what happened to the child, including the photographer Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as the photograph was taken.Three months later he committed suicide due to depression.

Revelation

In some remote village of India, one masterji is teaching the Mahabharata Story to class 6 students. He is at the 'Krishna janma'part of it.

Masterji: "Kamsa heard the Aakaashwani that his sister's 8th child isgoing to kill him. He was furious. He ordered to put Vasudev and Devki behind the bars.

First Son is born, and Kamsa kills him by poisoning...

Second one is born and Kamsa throws him off the mountain peak.

Third one is born .....
Now Ramu, who is smartest of the lot, puts up his hand."Masterji, I have a doubt" (sounding nervous and confused)

Masterji: "Ramu beta, whole India does not have doubt inMahabharata. Then how come u have one?"

Ramu: "Masterji, if Kamsa knew that Devaki's 8th child was going tokill him, WHY THE HELL DID HE PUT VASUDEV AND DEVAKI IN THE SAME CELL?"

Masterji fainted..... ......... ......... ..

Line of Control

Hi Mr. Ram,
The article 'Make LoC Line of peace- Manmohan give an impression that the Prime Minister is going soft on the actual Line of Control and also that he wants it to be a permanent border. In 1971, the Indian Army captured the entire lands, which was lost to Pakistan and later the then PM Indira Gandhi through the Simla Agreement compromised that land and now the present PM wants it to be a permanent border.

This controversy should not be decided by India or Pakistan, but by the people of J&K and the people in the POK, by a consensus and we should respect whatever is the outcome.

Maybe this outcome can be a landmark in bringing peace in the region and also to other separatists fighting around the world.

We need a strong will and commitment to resolve this problem and not a soft or rather a puppet PM who plays to the whims and fancies of Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, UPA (United Puppets Alliance) ( Now another puppet is going to be the President and Sonia gets absolute power to manipulate the government machinery)

The need of the hour is to crush militancy in J&K or come to a conclusion with a consensus and respect it.

Sivaji the Boss

Dear Sir,
this mail is in response to the article in your weekly and the below letter was sent by me to the editor of the Hindu on April 3rd. Yes definitely every human has these kind of thoughts and the reel media does the honours by producing such movies where the protagonist fights every odds and create a new chapter in history but when it comes to real life the efforts by a single person fails utterly. This movie shows the objective which I have undertaken in a more glitzy and colourful way. It is definitely possible to create a society free of these very evils and with the help of the right persons this dream can become a reality.

Regards,

K.G.Sastha Prakash

Dear Mr. N.Ram,
I would like to bring to your notice of the biased coverage of news in the Hindu. The newspaper does everything, from reporting to columns to please the the govt. and its cronies in power.

When Will you learn that Fourth Estate is one of the pillars of democracy. A total, free and clean reporting is required to uphold the fundamentals of freedom and democracy.

I have been reading your newspaper from the age of nine, it had a great impact in my life. Reading your drab articles on secularism, non-violence and caste reservations makes me sick. I think your paper should come with a statutory warning like "Reading The Hindu causes mental depression and leads to lunacy."

The letters to the editor is full of bullshit, because you create letters to your liking (eg. Pattabi Raman, a regular). And you consider brahmins are the upholders of righteousness and freedom of speech. This was started long ages back, creating lies and putting the fear of god into the less fortunate and less educated.

Now I have taken a mission of an iconoclast and I will destroy the entire pillars of society and create a new world order. Where every human is free of pressures of money, authority and hierarchy.

You should be warned that, this is not a handiwork of a lunatic and try to destroy me with the use of muscle power and money, because you cannot kill a person who is hell bent on committing suicide.

This is the first step i.e., writing a crazy mail like this and my crazy mind will create new ways to destroy the very foundation of this world and take this generation to the Stone ages.

With great sorrow and hope to attain my mission.

Apalling Typos.

Hai Ram, hai hai,
There is a saying like little knowledge is dangerous than ignorance. The 'Know Your English' is your effort to improve English and its usage, but the very purpose is wasted.

The pangram you have taken as an example i.e, "the quick brown fox jumped over the lady dog," should have been 'lazy' dog. This as your article says is used to check the typewriter keys and the person who typed must have realised the mistake and what were the proof readers doing.

You take pride in being articulate, but I find you and your paper to be hypocrite and mediocre.

Go on doing these kind of mistakes and I will have the pleasure to pointing out.

Afzal Guru Clemency.

Dear Sir,
I have been reading a lot of reports, discussions and protest rallys on the clemency petioned by Azal Guru's family to the president of India. It really hurts that Social Activists like Arundhati Roy and Medha Patkar rallying for a convicted and sentenced terrorist, who has done the worst possible crime to human kind. These activist should not protest against the death penalty to a terrorist and instead find ways to rehabilitate the widows and the orpaned children of the killed security force men in the Parliament incident.

Since Afzal Guru has not filed a clemency petion himself, it should be rejected outright. To handle terrorism we should have a Stalinistic approach, that is " two eyes for one and jaw for a tooth." Maybe if the kin of the security forces killed in terrorist related incidents take up arms will be having a new problem in hand.

A Response to an article giving dire predictions in The Week, a South Indian Magazine.

Dear Mr. Mahesh,
Your article was a good read, but do you really follow what you preach, I don't think so and the human being is give the power to exploit the nature and its vast resources and if these resources are used in a judicious manner we would not have been in this present position. It is the crass consumerism and globalisation is to be blamed and the media is also one of the key player in the destruction of the earth's non-renewable resources, that is by reckless advertisement and glorifying the rich which is aped by the not so rich or, the what you call, the middle class.

Instead of giving dire predictions, go about doing something constructive to sustain life in this planet. Also it is in a way that the Mother Earth taking revenge for the wanton exploitation by man and for every action there is a equal opposite reaction. As said in the Upanishads for something new to happen the old has to be destroyed and this is applicable to the condition of the earth and its inhabitants but life goes on and it is a never ending process.

Erroneous Reporting by The Hindu. A newspaper in South India

Hai Ram, (Sigh of desperation and not that idiot's famous words 'Hey Ram', who took an entire generation for a solid ride) This is your nemesis Sastha Prakash. Did anyone edit Young World today? That reporter should be fired and you should step down.

Maps on stamps
The Map of India was the motif of the third definitive stamp series issued by the Indian Posts and Telegraphs Dept. on 1 April, 1857.

What are you trying to say? And the Naya Paisa was issued in 1857, is it a belated April Fool joke played on children or proving the old Tamil saying 'dog's tail never straightens even after 100 years in a pipe'

This is the second last nail in your coffin, I am going to file a PIL via e-filing in the High Court for distorting Indian History and spreading misinformation.

You can get me arrested for sedition for the initial comment on M.K. Gandhi and I can get instant fame.

One more thing, letters received should be replied, that is a sign of a gentleman.

God bless you and devil kiss you.

Another billet doux

Dear Mr. Ram,

The article 'Francois army in Hyderabad.' (Coimbatore Edition- 1 June 2007Young World)

'In 1970, he fought with Tipu Sultan of Mysore.'

It could have been a typo, but the year does not correspond to the arrival of Raymond in India or any of his exploits.

As this section is read by children, why don't you people follow a set style guide and avoid erroneous reporting.

Enjoy reading Young World because most articles are written by women and women do their writing from their heart not the mind, were as in men it is vice versa.

Another blooper in Literary Review, Sunday, 3 June 2007.

The critic points out the author's spelling mistakes (peasant- pheasant) and she herself makes the same mistake by spelling Orwell as Owell (sounds like the Ewell in the book To Kill a Mocking Bird- Harper Lee). Do not remember the name of that of that review.

I would like you to come over these small mistakes and not creating a new Indian History as the saying goes, 'Let sleeping dogs sleep' or to that effect and not getting these children confused.

Regards.
