Afzal Guru Clemency.

Dear Sir,
I have been reading a lot of reports, discussions and protest rallys on the clemency petioned by Azal Guru's family to the president of India. It really hurts that Social Activists like Arundhati Roy and Medha Patkar rallying for a convicted and sentenced terrorist, who has done the worst possible crime to human kind. These activist should not protest against the death penalty to a terrorist and instead find ways to rehabilitate the widows and the orpaned children of the killed security force men in the Parliament incident.

Since Afzal Guru has not filed a clemency petion himself, it should be rejected outright. To handle terrorism we should have a Stalinistic approach, that is " two eyes for one and jaw for a tooth." Maybe if the kin of the security forces killed in terrorist related incidents take up arms will be having a new problem in hand.

A Response to an article giving dire predictions in The Week, a South Indian Magazine.

Dear Mr. Mahesh,
Your article was a good read, but do you really follow what you preach, I don't think so and the human being is give the power to exploit the nature and its vast resources and if these resources are used in a judicious manner we would not have been in this present position. It is the crass consumerism and globalisation is to be blamed and the media is also one of the key player in the destruction of the earth's non-renewable resources, that is by reckless advertisement and glorifying the rich which is aped by the not so rich or, the what you call, the middle class.

Instead of giving dire predictions, go about doing something constructive to sustain life in this planet. Also it is in a way that the Mother Earth taking revenge for the wanton exploitation by man and for every action there is a equal opposite reaction. As said in the Upanishads for something new to happen the old has to be destroyed and this is applicable to the condition of the earth and its inhabitants but life goes on and it is a never ending process.

What are you trying to say? And the Naya Paisa was issued in 1857, is it a belated April Fool joke played on children or proving the old Tamil saying 'dog's tail never straightens even after 100 years in a pipe'

This is the second last nail in your coffin, I am going to file a PIL via e-filing in the High Court for distorting Indian History and spreading misinformation.

You can get me arrested for sedition for the initial comment on M.K. Gandhi and I can get instant fame.

One more thing, letters received should be replied, that is a sign of a gentleman.

Another billet doux

Dear Mr. Ram,

The article 'Francois army in Hyderabad.' (Coimbatore Edition- 1 June 2007Young World)

'In 1970, he fought with Tipu Sultan of Mysore.'

It could have been a typo, but the year does not correspond to the arrival of Raymond in India or any of his exploits.

As this section is read by children, why don't you people follow a set style guide and avoid erroneous reporting.

Enjoy reading Young World because most articles are written by women and women do their writing from their heart not the mind, were as in men it is vice versa.

Another blooper in Literary Review, Sunday, 3 June 2007.

The critic points out the author's spelling mistakes (peasant- pheasant) and she herself makes the same mistake by spelling Orwell as Owell (sounds like the Ewell in the book To Kill a Mocking Bird- Harper Lee). Do not remember the name of that of that review.

I would like you to come over these small mistakes and not creating a new Indian History as the saying goes, 'Let sleeping dogs sleep' or to that effect and not getting these children confused.
